2006-12-24 : Savannah sweeps NSSA Women's and ESA Christmas District Contest

The first Southeast Central Florida district contest for the NSSA this year and Savannah's first time to compete in multiple divisions including her own "Explorers Girl" division was held the weekend before Christmas break in Melbourne beach in sloppy three foot conditions. Savannah placed 1st in the "OpenWomen's finals" and again placed 1st in the "ExplorerWomen's finals" and 3rd in the Explorer Girls division finals where she surfed back-to-back heats on the windy cold late December afternoon.

Below Savannah holds her Trophy and Ron Jon's gift certificate for placing 1st in the ESA early in December. "I love the ESA's Christmas trophies they always have Santa doing some surfing." explains Savannah

"I'm trying to improve myconsistency in my maneuvers like the one below shot on Christmas Eve by my mom, Captain Gina", says Savannah. "I want to thank Viking Surfboards for great surfboards and some wonderful apparel they've provided. Everyone really liked my sweaters, zip ups and tees on the beach and they kept me really warm between heats.

"I feel overwhelmed that I won both women's divisions this Christmas during NSSA's first division contest. I was really bummed when I arrived and the conditions where less than expected, but together with my father we figured out what to do and I overcame some of the conditions and did really well against girls that were much older and seasoned than myself," Says an Excited Savannah Bradley. "It paid today to be 74 pounds and less than 5 feet tall, I hope I stay up with the rest of these girls thru the rest of the coming year."

Please keep me in your minds as I prepare for NSSAregionals and nationals against some of the great girl surfers of our day, like Hawaii'sCarissa Moore and Coco Ho. I'll need some good waves and traveling in the coming months to prepare for who I'll be surfing against on a national/world level as we close in on the summer of 2007.
